VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL… is scheduled July 16-20, from 6-7:30 PM. This year’s theme is “HERO Central”, where kids can Discover Their Strength in God! Volunteers are needed. Envelopes are in the narthex. Fill in your name and phone number if you are volunteering to work on the program; name & envelope number if you are making a monetary donation. Please let Parish Ed know they can count on you to help pull this program together for the kids. If you have any questions contact Cindy Schumaker, Diane Winkelman, or Meagan Winkelman.

LYO and Young Adults are attending the yearly Big Ticket Festival in Gaylord, MI June 21st – 24th. The group will be leaving the evening of the 20th and returning Sunday the 25th. LYO Funds as well as funds raised by fundraisers help pay for the housing or most of the cost of housing. Tickets to the festival are still available, the cost is $95 per person. Meals will be discussed at the Big Ticket Meeting on June 4th at 10 AM in the High School Room. There is still room available if you would like to attend. Please plan to be at the meeting on the 4th with one parent or guardian. Please let Kim Cramer or Cassandra Fox know if you would like to attend.


ALL POST HIGH SCHOOL… members and their invited friends should plan to join
us once a month to study and have open discussion about Christianity, college, the latest
trends, and temptations common to us today. We meet the first Friday of every month at 6:30 pm at Panera Bread in Monroe. Please contact Gina if you have any questions and/or to RSVP. Email:

Prince of Peace offers many youth activities throughout the year for various age groups:

  • LYO – Lutheran Youth Organization welcomes youth in high school (9th through 12th grade)
  • YouFO – Youth Fellowship Organization welcomes youth in junior high (6th through 8th grade)
  • KOK – Kids of the Kingdom welcomes youth in 3rd through 5th grade

Each of these groups have adult sponsors who plan and chaperone various activities throughout the year. Examples include roller skating, bowling, corn maze fun, mailing packages to college bound members, baking cookies for homebound members, etc. In addition, LYO attends “The Gathering” each year in Lansing and YouFO attends “YouthQuake” near Toledo each year.

“The Gathering” is an opportunity for groups of Lutheran youth with adult chaperones from all over Michigan and some from Ohio to gather in Christ at the Holiday Inn South in Lansing for three days of fun, worship, spiritual growth, and much more. The Gathering features worship time, key-note speakers, skill shops, small groups, and many recreational options. This event happens every year from December 27th through December 30th.

Youth Quake Ministries“YouthQuake” is an incredible Christian weekend retreat designed for middle school youth (grades 6-9) and run from Friday evening through Sunday morning. Quakes are held at hotels in over 40 locations for more than 15,000 people annually! At Quakes, God builds caring Christian community among youth and adults, personal faith in Jesus Christ, and positive relationships among peers through great music, motivational speakers, small group activities, lessons on life and exciting interaction between youth groups. Quakes also include leadership opportunities for students in grades 10-12.
